The Standing Stones is a band formed by Jimmy Cauty and Jem Finer. The Stones draw on influences from early music technologies, trad folk, and electronic dance. They create soundscapes steeped in pre-history, deep time & universal wyrdness.
The Stones record releases become the justification & the means by which they fund their primary interest: standing new monoliths across the land in cosmologically charged ceremonies.
Their first standing stone The Gurdy Stone was raised and encoded with The Hurdy-Gurdy Song in Kingston, East Sussex, on 1st May
2023 as the Green Comet passed Earth for the first time in 50,000 years.
Their second standing stone The Hurdy Stone was raised on 1st May
2026 and encoded with their third release Twa Sisters.
There is now a new ley line connecting the two stones and a LunaTronik network of future sacred sites around the world waiting to be activated before the Green Comet returns.
