Reminiscent of the ambient soundscapes recorded for The KLFs Chill Out album, MUSIC FOR FUNERALS AND BRICKLAYING CEREMONIES by Jimmy Cauty’s production outfit TowerBlock1 takes you on a 23 minute journey through all the sounds and music played during the bricklaying ceremonies that have taken place every year since 2018 to build THE PEOPLES PYRAMID.
NOTE: * “Chillout music is like a kind of sludge that blocks up the sonic airwaves” says Jimmy Cauty, “Music for Funerals and Bricklaying Ceremonies is strictly functional and should only be listened to at a funeral or bricklaying ceremony. It’s not for the casual ambient listener. The funeral music was thrown together as it arose to fill a sonic gap in the bricklaying ceremony … But some of the best things are created like that at the last minute, necessity being the mother of invention.“
