The image in these screen-print paintings is derived from a photo taken in Hackney Wick from the shore of the canal in 2004/5, long before the London Olympics and subsequent regeneration of the area . Back then that part of East London was a post-industrial toxic wasteland populated only by dodgy scrap merchants, the Pram Man, a few artists and a recording studio. This photo then became the subject of a Harry Adams painting that was in turn photographed and made into a series of positive and negative screens. These were then used to build up layers of prints and underpainting to create these five unique works.
