A Town Planning Disaster by Jimmy Cauty.
ESTATE TPD 446 (A Town Planning Directive) is a Town Planning Disaster built in 1/24 scale by Jimmy Cauty that exists in the same post-apocalyptic world of the Aftermath Disclocation Principle.
It is currently in the build stage and will be completed in 2020.
ESTATE will consist primarily of 4 tower blocks, each 17 floors standing at 2 meters high. The towers are made floor by floor out of concrete with each room decorated and meticulously destroyed as seen fit by the Town Planner.
Two tower blocks have been completed so far:
Iceni Heights – a block of Live Work Die light industrial and residential units.
HM Prison Camp Delta-Zulu – a multi-storey, low tech, low cost, high security child correction facility designed to support and enable the ESTATE ZONE Social Cleansing Programme.
TowerBlock3 Roman Point is set to be the first ever high rise residential care home – an iconic development in the low risk high yield growth sector of the 21st century deconstruction industry…. More news coming soon.
When ESTATE is complete it will be toured.
The project is entirely self-funded and the funding of the project has become integral to the development and meaning of the work.
So far the build has cost £112,000 and we expect it to cost an additional £80,000 by the time all 4 towers are built and we are equipped to tour. The money has been raised by selling merch made by Jimmy Cauty and L-13 from Riots in Jam Jars, to prints, posters to t-shirts & mugs etc. Full details of released editions below.
Now that the first two towers are complete we are also selling ‘Investment Units’ in the actual blocks. In Iceni Heights – TowerBlock1 – this took the guise of selling 99 year leases in Live Work Die Units and in HMP Camp Delta Zulu – TowerBlock2 – we are selling Social Impact Bonds in service providers for the children prison. Those who invest will also become Benefactors of the prison and will be allocated a room or Unit as its official sponsor.
